Kansas City Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes learned a valuable lesson on Monday night.

The NFL world is all waiting for news on New York Jets QB Aaron Rodgers after he suffered a lower-body injury in the opening minutes of "Monday Night Football." Mahomes posted a reaction to the injury shortly after it occurred. The only problem is that he failed to use the proper punctuation in the post, which caused some serious confusion.

His first post read: "Hate that man. . . praying for the best."

What he meant to say: "Hate that, man. . . praying for the best."

Punctuation matters, which feels like the most editor thing I've ever written.

Obviously, the first version sounds as if Mahomes is saying that he hates Rodgers, which we know isn't true. Mahomes took his lumps on the original social media post, and he was really a good sport about it.

Hopefully, New York's quarterback can heal up quickly. The Chiefs are set to face the Jets on "Sunday Night Football" in Week 4. Mahomes and Rodgers have never played against each other in a game before despite their teams meeting twice in the past four seasons. Mahomes missed the game with the Packers in 2019 due to a kneecap injury. Rodgers missed the game in 2021 due to COVID-19.
