Anthony Schwartz was always a questionable pick for the Cleveland Browns but it has to play out. It has now played out and the pick was an obvious mistake.

The Browns announced on Sunday that Schwartz was among a bunch of cuts they’ve made so far as they work their way down to 53 players.

After being selected in the third round of the 2020 NFL Draft, the Browns are moving on after two seasons.

During those two seasons with the Browns, Schwartz totaled just 186 receiving yards in 25 games. In two seasons with the Browns, the Auburn product scored two touchdowns.

This preseason gave a big sign that Schwartz would be cut, he’s played late into the team’s first three preseason games.

Cleveland drafted Schwartz on his speed alone and that proved to be a mistake. He never showed the ability to be an actual NFL receiver, just speed.

In the end, the Browns have made the right choice and they’ll be better off by having made that choice.
