Former Tennessee Vols wide receiver, a third round selection by the New York Giants in the 2023 NFL Draft, went viral earlier this year for an interaction he had with Dallas Cowboys wide receivers coach Robert Prince ahead of the draft.

Prince mentioned to Hyatt that his biggest strength was his speed, which led to Hyatt saying "But I can run routes though".

The Giants and the Cowboys will face each other in Week One of the 2023 NFL season (on Sunday Night Football) and Hyatt's interaction with Prince will almost certainly be a big topic of discussion at some point during the broadcast.

Earlier this week, The Athletic's Dan Duggan spoke with Hyatt about the interaction. And Hyatt gave an incredibly classy response to the whole ordeal.

“It did become a big deal," said Hyatt. "I remember looking at my phone and seeing it and I was like, ‘Man!’ I have a lot of respect for the Cowboys receivers coach. He was one of my 30 visits that I had to go meet — good dude, great coach. "It was a competitive pro day. We were both talking back-and-forth. That’s just how it is sometimes with football. He wanted me to do the best and I respect him for that."

"There was obviously some stuff that we didn’t see eye-to-eye on, but it is what it is," added Hyatt. "He has his opinions, I have my opinions and at the same time, I’m trying to work to be the best player I can be. Whatever tips and things he had for me, I’m going to make sure I observe them. There’s no hard feelings. He’s obviously been in the league for a while, so I have a lot of respect for him.”

Hyatt handled that entire situation with the maturity of a 10-year NFL veteran. He showed confidence without looking arrogant. And then he showed class when presented with an opportunity to do the opposite.

The Giants didn't just get a good player in Hyatt, they got a good person, too.
