Peyton Manning is coming home to Knoxville.  Again.

The former Tennessee great and Pro Football Hall of Fame quarterback is joining the faculty with the University of Tennessee's College of Communication and Information.

According to the university's press release, Manning will join the faculty beginning in the fall 2023 term.  He will teach courses that include sports reporting, video production and performance, leadership and communication, and public speaking.

There are very few more qualified to teach the subject, especially in the sports media field, than Manning.  He graduated from UT with a degree in speech communication.  He has his own successful media company in Omaha Productions.  He also has taken the NFL broadcasting world by storm with his brother Eli in the wildly entertaining Monday Night Football "Peyton and Eli" broadcasts, or "Manningcasts, produced by Peyton's aforementioned Omaha Productions.

And there's been no one more publicly dedicated to their university since leaving than Manning has been to Tennessee.  Whether appearing at sporting events in UT gear or in the media, Manning has always been a Volunteer at heart.  His tireless financial support to the university over the years has been almost immeasurable.

They say you can't go home again.  Well, Manning has proven that wrong.  He entered Vol fans' hearts on March 6, 1997 when he said "I'm gonna stay at the University of Tennessee."  Now, in August 2023 after a lifetime of fantastic achievements, he's back where he belongs – in the classrooms of the University of Tennessee.
