The Green Bay Packers have had a litany of great players walk through the facility doors and several of them have landed in the Hall of Fame.

After Thursday, two more Packers legends are on track to land in Canton: five-time Pro Bowl wide receiver Sterling Sharpe and Super Bowl-champion head coach Mike Holmgren. Sharpe is one of a dozen semifinalists on the NFL's senior committee, while Holmgren is a semifinalist in the coach/contributor category.

Both men made their marks on the franchise in the best way possible. Sharpe was one of the best receivers of his time and probably would've finished as one of the best of all-time, but a severe neck injury cut his career short after seven seasons. But even then, he accrued the third-most receiving yards (8,134), the second-most receptions (595), and the second-most receiving touchdowns (65) out of all wide receivers from 1988-1994. He would've led all receivers in receptions and touchdowns if it weren't for some guy named Jerry Rice.

Holmgren coached Sharpe for three of those seasons and eventually helped the Packers become Super Bowl champs in 1996, just two years after Sharpe's career ended. He eventually finished his Packers career with a 75-37 record over the course of 112 games and his .670 winning percentage is second only to Vince Lombardi when comparing Packers coaches with at least 100 games coached.

Per Packers.com, the "single coach/contributor selection will take place on Aug. 15, while the senior committee will meet Aug. 22 and may select up to three candidates for final consideration. Expansion of the Seniors pool for election to the Hall was approved in 2022 for the Classes of 2023, 2024 and 2025."

Many have argued Sharpe's bust is long overdue and Holmgren is considered to be one of the best coaches in NFL history, so it'll be interesting to see what happens in August.
