The Pittsburgh Steelers seldom miss when it comes to drafting and developing wide receivers.
And while James Washington is closer to the miss than the hit category, he still performed when he was in Pittsburgh. So following yesterday's news, there is a chance he comes back for a redemption tour:
Back in Black?

Washington recorded over 100 receptions for nearly 1,630 yards and 11 scores during his stint in the black and gold. Incredible numbers for a single season, that line is diluted when you consider it was over a four-year period.
A former second-round pick, Washington left for Dallas last season when his rookie deal ended, but he suffered an injury in camp that limited him to only two games played in 2022.
As for the Saints, Washington was released after a preseason debut that saw no catches on only two targets, making him expendable in the eyes of New Orleans.
But you're saying there's a chance?
Yes, I am. I know Washington wasn't the belle of the ball in Pittsburgh, but if he's your fifth option in a six-man-wide receiving corps that's pretty solid. Especially when you consider the names in front of him include George Pickens, Diontae Johnson, Allen Robinson, and Calvin Austin. Washington knows his role, and I doubt would be any real competition for those four when it comes to target distribution.
So hopefully Pittsburgh at least checks in on Washington. A phone call never hurts.
