Earlier this summer, the Tennessee Vols landed a commitment from 2024 five-star wide receiver Mike Matthews.

Matthews, 6-foot-1/180 lbs from Lilburn, GA, is ranked in 247Sports' composite rankings as the No. 4 wide receiver in the nation and the No. 3 player in the state of Georgia.

On Wednesday, Matthews took the field for Parkview High School for the first game of his senior season.

And he immediately showed why he's a five-star recruit.

Matthews showed some impressive elusiveness in his season-opener, making several shifty moves to get past defenders before finally getting tackled (after making around six or seven defenders miss).

Check it out:

Matthews has first-round NFL talent. And it showed on Wednesday night.

Vols head coach Josh Heupel has already displayed an incredible ability to get the most out of his wide receivers. Matthews could end up being the most talented receiver that Heupel's had so far as a head coach. Which means there could be some records broken on Rocky Top once Matthews arrives.
