One of the hardest college-to-NFL transitions is the trek tight ends have to make in order to adjust. The learning curve is an immense one because they have to learn all of the nuances of the offense since they're asked to run/pass block and also catch passes.

And, apparently in the case of Green Bay Packers rookie tight end Luke Musgrave: jet sweeps, as well

Musgrave's speed and athleticism has been on full display throughout Packers training camp and it's clear they have big plans for him in 2023. This is evidenced by the fact that they are going to throw whatever they can at him in order to make sure he's as ready as possible for the regular season.

Without overloading him, of course.

"All the above," Packers head coach Matt LaFleur said Thursday when asked if they have Musgrave pinpointed as a difference-maker or if they're experimenting with him. "I think we're still trying to figure out all these guys and you're gonna try to put them in to maybe some uncomfortable situations to really push the limit and try to get the most out of them. So I do think he has a really unique skill set and the fact that he can he can really run and so we're gonna keep on pushing it…

"… I mean, we're gonna throw as much add on until we're like, alright, that's probably too much. And right now he's doing a great job of being able to handle it and so we're gonna keep pushing him."

Musgrave can shatter Packers' drought in 2023

All of the above, along with the weapons around Musgrave, put him on track to be the first Packers tight end in team history to record 500 receiving yards or more in Year 1 since the AFL/NFL merger. As a matter of fact, he'd be the first rookie tight in NFC North history to ever accomplish that feat.

Bubba Franks currently holds the Packers' record for most receiving yards by a rookie tight end with 363, since the merger. In terms of the entire NFCN, former Minnesota Vikings tight end Joe Senser's 447 receiving yards holds the record that was set all the way back in 1980.

Based off how camp has progressed, it'd be a major surprise if Musgrave fails to surpass these marks. If there are any available player props on this out there – go ahead and lock them in, now.
