A 2024 Tennessee Vols commit is trying to help Josh Heupel and his staff bring a key recruit to Knoxville.

2024 four-star athlete Boo Carter, a Tennessee commit since late June, isn't shy about his recruiting efforts.

The Tennessee native often takes to social media to send recruiting pitches to key recruits the Vols are trying to land.

On Sunday, Carter sent a message to 2024 four-star cornerback Cai Bates.

"I think it's about time for him (Bates) to come home," tweeted Carter on Sunday evening.

Bates, 6-foot-2/180 lbs from Orlando, FL, is rated in 247Sports' composite rankings as the No. 11 cornerback in the nation and the No. 14 player in the state of Florida. He's also rated as the No. 107 overall player in the 2024 recruiting class.

The talented recruit is set to commit on July 26. Tennessee is battling LSU for Bates' commitment.

LSU received Bates' final visit, but the Vols appear to have the momentum in this recruiting battle ahead of Bates' commitment later this week.

Tennessee needs as much elite talent at the defensives back position as they can get. Landing Bates would be a massive get for the Vols at a major position of need. If the Volunteers are going to compete for championships on a regular basis then these are the types of recruiting battles they have to routinely win.

UT currently has 18 players committed to its 2024 recruiting class which is ranked No. 8 in the nation.
