The Tennessee Vols certainly don’t have an easy schedule in 2026.
One of the Tennessee Vols’ toughest games of the 2026 college football season got even tougher this week.
The Texas A&M Aggies announced on Thursday that their game against Tennessee on Nov. 14 will be a blackout game.
College Station is already one of the toughest places to play in college football.
Vols head coach Josh Heupel said as much last week during an appearance on Wake Up Barstool.
“College Station, from my playing days, is one that is a really unique atmosphere,” said Heupel. “You know, the yell leaders or whatever they call them down there. It’s constant noise for 60 minutes.”
A blackout game will only amplify that energy, giving the Aggies’ crowd an extra jolt heading into what will certainly be a massive SEC showdown.
Kickoff time still unknown for Texas A&M vs Tennessee
The exact kickoff time for the Tennessee vs Texas A&M game remains unclear at this point.
Texas plays at LSU that same day, and that matchup will almost certainly be ESPN’s featured night game.
But even if the Vols and Aggies land in the late afternoon slot, the atmosphere in College Station is going to be electric (a noon kickoff seems unlikely for a game of this caliber).
This is obviously going to be one of the Vols’ tallest tasks of the entire season.
Tennessee’s teams under Heupel have had some trouble on the road at times, and that trend could easily continue in a hostile blackout environment at Kyle Field.
With that said, if the Vols can somehow pull off a win in this game, it could be the late-season push Tennessee needs to put themselves squarely in the College Football Playoff conversation (depending on how the rest of the season plays out).
