There weren't a lot of great memories from the Carolina Panthers' 2022 season.
A 7-10 season that includes a head coach getting fired and multiple quarterbacks starting games usually doesn't provide many great moments.
But despite the lackluster results last season, the Panthers actually accomplished a feat that no NFL team had accomplished in over five years.
According to Warren Sharp (Sharp Football), the Panthers were the only team in the NFL that scored a touchdown on 100 percent of their drives that were over 70 yards.
The Panthers had 24 drives that were over 70 yards (which resulted in 24 touchdowns).
That means that if Carolina started from inside their own 30 and went at least 70 yards down the field, then they were putting six points on the board instead of settling for a field goal (or turning the ball over once they got into the red zone).
Continuing that pace in 2023 seems unlikely as that's a success rate that's incredibly difficult to sustain. And since the Panthers have a lot of new faces on the offensive side of the ball in 2023 (and a new coaching staff), there probably won't be much correlation between what happened in 2022 and what will happen in 2023.
Still, it's a stat that shows the Panthers weren't nearly as far off in 2022 as it appeared on paper. The line between a playoff team and a non-playoff team can be extremely thin. Carolina is obviously hoping to be on the other side of that line in 2023.
