It's no secret that DeAndre Hopkins was hoping to sign with a team with a "quarterback who loves the game" in free agency. Hopkins said as much shortly before he was released by the Arizona Cardinals in late May on the “I AM ATHLETE” podcast.

"A QB who loves the game, a QB who brings everybody on board with him, pushes not just himself but people around him," Hopkins told Brandon Marshall and Ashley Nicole Moss when asked what he was looking for in his next team. "I don’t need a great QB – I’ve done it with subpar QBs – Just a QB who loves the game like I do. And a great defense. I think defense wins championships."

After signing a two-year, $26 million with the Tennessee Titans, Hopkins believes he has found the best of both worlds – a great quarterback who also loves the game – in Titans starting quarterback Ryan Tannehill. In his first press conference in front of Titans media on Tuesday, Hopkins was quick to convey confidence in his new quarterback.

"One out of 10, I think it's a 10," Hopkins responded when asked about his confidence that Tannehill can lead a winning team. "I think he's a great quarterback."

Hopkins said that both Ryan and Lauren Tannehill met up with him and GM Ran Carthon on his visit to Nashville.

"Ryan came, him and his wife, they came and met me and Ran when we were out, so that said a lot about him right there. He just wanted to come and talk to me, hang out with me. We kicked it off right away," Hopkins said.

Hopkins also told Titans media that getting to know his quarterback away from the football field has allowed him to maintain chemistry with his QBs without having consistency at the position during his career.  Hopkins had 11 different starting quarterbacks with the Houston Texans and three different starters just last season with Arizona.

Tannehill and Hopkins still have a long way to go, but if they are already hitting it off, that's a really good sign for the things to come in Nashville.
