Lady Vols

Former Lady Vols softball star Karlyn Pickens is in her first season with the Carolina Blaze after a standout career at Tennessee.

And she just did something in a pro softball game that you’ve almost certainly never seen before.

Pickens, who was the No. 1 overall pick by the Blaze in 2026 AUSL College Draft, threw a pitch so hard that it broke the bat of a hitter who was attempting to bunt.

Pickens holds the record for the fastest pitch in college softball history at 79.4 mph, so we already knew she threw hard.

But I’m not sure anyone knew she threw that hard.
