On the night for the NFL's first preseason game of the year, the Chicago Bears made a bit of a splash when they signed former Pro Bowl edge rusher Yannick Ngakoue to a one year deal.

Ngakoue was one of the better free agents left on the market. He's managed to have eight straight seasons with eight or more sacks. It was actually kind of odd that no team had taken on his services yet. You also have to question why Ngakoue has moved around the league so much. The Bears will be his fifth team since the 2020 season.

Ngakoue can bring a much needed pass rush to the Bears defense. the team finished the 2022 season dead last in sacks and haven't really done much to address that issue outside of maybe the signing for Andrew Billings. The Bears are going to need a pass rush if they hope to make due on the growth that so many believe the Bears can have in 2023. Ngakoue is very good start.

This also helps in the Ryan Poles promising to take the North department. We'll see if the Bears can keep getting better.
