The Cincinnati Bengals signed Germaine Pratt signed a three-year deal for $20.25 million back in March, and Logan Wilson got a four-year extension worth $37.25 million earlier this week.

This means that the linebacker position in Cincinnati won't be an issue for quite some time. One person couldn't be more happy that that's the case.

Bengals defensive coordinator Lou Anarumo spoke on his excitement about getting Wilson back and gave him and Pratt a nice compliment simultaneously.

"Thrilled. Not only Logan but Germaine, too, earlier this year," said Anarumo. "I feel like we have one of the best tandems of linebacker in the league and been able now to keep Logan for an extended amount of time.

"He's the playcaller on defense. I talk to him on the headset. He yells things back to me that I can't hear, but he can hear me yelling (Anarumo said while cracking a smile). But we’re super excited to have him back, and it's great for the team, great for the organization."

Wilson was a part of the 2020 draft where the Bengals snagged quarterback Joe Burrow and wide receiver Tee Higgins in the first two rounds. Wilson was taken in the third round, and after a reserve role as a rookie where he tallied 33 tackles and two sacks, he's shined as a starter.

Over the last two seasons, Wilson has registered at least 100 tackles in each (career-high 123 in 2022) and has also racked up five interceptions and 3.5 sacks over that span. Wilson's coverage grade (73.6) run-defense grade (67.3), pass-rush grade (61.6), tackle grade (90.0), and overall defensive grade (72.7) last season per Pro Football Focus were all top marks for him.

"Logan is a major piece of our young core, and it was a priority to get this deal done,” said Taylor, via Bengals.com. “He’s been a fantastic leader for our defense and comes in ready to work every single day. He will continue to be a key member of this team as we build toward the future.”

Pratt was drafted by the Bengals in the third round of the 2019 draft, the same year that Anarumo and Taylor came to the organization. Just like the Bengals have continously seen improvement over the last few years, Pratt has increased his tackle numbers each season (76, 89, 91, 99).

Like Wilson, Pratt is coming off his best season in the NFL. He amassed career-high grades across the board when it comes to run defense, pass-rush, coverage, tackling, and overall defense per PFF.

Other linebacker duo's may get more flowers, but Wilson and Pratt aren't to be taken lightly.
