The Las Vegas Raiders may be wasting their money. Let's calm down on the overreacting; however, their highest-paid player, Jimmy Garoppolo, isn't having the best training camp. According to the media that has been present at camp, he has really only had one good practice.

He hadn't played actual football since Week 12 of last season when he injured his foot. Then again, Brian Hoyer, a career backup in the league, hasn't played meaningful football since Week 4 of last season, where he threw just six passes. Yet, he is having a great training camp.

The Raiders, after they knew about Garoppolo's serious injury and the fact he may not pass a physical, paid Garoppolo a three-year, $72 million contract, making him the highest-paid player on the team this year, as well as the highest dead cap.

Yet, he has had back-to-back bad practices. And these aren't practices where you can just say it wasn't his day. In both practices, he has thrown three interceptions.

According to Paul Gutierrez of ESPN, Garoppolo threw three interceptions on Friday to cornerbacks Amik Robertson, Marcus Peters, and free safety Tre'von Moehrig and dropped at least two other potential interceptions.

That is a practice where you say, okay, maybe the defense just won, and he had a bad day. But then, Saturday happened. Jakorian Bennett, Isaiah Pola-Mao, and Robert Spillane were able to snag an interception against Garoppolo on Saturday. According to Vic Tafur of The Athletic, Garoppolo also went 1-7 in passing with three dropped interceptions.

Sure, it's training camp, so should we be worried? Not entirely. However, this is somewhat alarming, especially considering that the Raiders defense isn't that good.

Then again, maybe this says more about the defenses' improvements. Maybe this is the year they make that jump.

"We are hungry," new Raider Marcus Peters said.

"I want to get the ball, and when the ball is in the air, you've got to have a will and want to go get it. And I want to go get it more than everybody else. You've got to just make sure that infects the whole locker room, and we all just do it as one unit, you feel me, and it's going to pay off for us."

While the light is being shined on Garoppolo, and as it should be, the defense is having fun.
