The Tennessee Vols gained an important recruiting advantage with a key four-star recruit over the weekend.

2025 four-star quarterback Deuce Knight announced on Sunday that he's transferring from George County High School in Mississippi to Lipscomb Academy in Nashville.

I want to take a moment to announce I will be attending Lipscomb Academy for the upcoming year," tweeted Knight. "I would like to take the time to express my appreciation and gratitude to everyone at George County High School from the administration staff, teachers, coaches, teammates, and classmates who made my time at George County High School a great one."

Knight, 6-foot-5/195 lbs from Lucedale, MS, is rated in 247Sports' composite rankings as the No. 5 quarterback in the 2025 recruiting class. He's also now rated as the No. 2 overall player in the state of Tennessee.

At Lipscomb, Knight will be playing with a couple of 2024 Vols commit in cornerback Kaleb Beasley and linebacker Edwin Spillman.

Tennessee doesn't have a quarterback committed to its 2025 recruiting class yet and Knight is certainly one of their top targets. The fact that he's moving to Nashville should give Tennessee at least a slight advantage in this recruiting battle (Ole Miss, TCU, and Notre Dame are also in the mix).

Interestingly, another one of Tennessee's top 2025 recruiting targets, five-star quarterback George MacIntyre, also plays high school football in the Nashville area (MacIntyre plays at Brentwood Academy). The two talented quarterbacks will square off on October 20 when Lipscomb is set to play Brentwood. That could be a must-see high school game — especially for Vols fans.

Knight is expected to announce his commitment sometime this fall. Transferring to Lipscomb doesn't automatically mean that Knight will be a Vol, but it certainly doesn't hurt Tennessee's chances.
