The Las Vegas Raiders have stolen a player from their biggest rival.

According to Vic Tafur of The Athletic, the Raiders have signed former Kansas City Chiefs linebacker Darius Harris and have waived tight end O.J. Howard, offensive tackle Justin Murray, and linebacker Kana'i Mauga.

Harris started four games for the Chiefs last season and played very well when he was on the field.

Raiders new LB has a history with Chiefs

Harris only started four games because the Chiefs have a great, young linebacker corps, and Willie Gay, their starting linebacker, was suspended for the first few games of the season.

Before Harris' first start, his defensive coordinator was so excited for him to get on the field.

"I'll tell you what, I'm fired up to see Darius (Harris) out there," Chiefs DC Steve Spagnuolo said last season prior to Week 3. "I'm really happy for him that he has this opportunity. You're talking about a guy who's been here for a number of years. If you remember the first year he was here, it was a 'redshirt' year because of his shoulder, I believe. And that's a long year to go through. And then he came in, and he's done this (upward motion) continually as a player. (He) earned himself a right to be on the roster this year, and he's one of those cerebral guys, so I'm really anxious to see what he can do."

As you can see, the coaching staff over in Kansas City clearly loved him. However, the depth in their linebacker room was too much, and Harris would need more chances to play.

If Steve Spagnuolo, who is one of the brighter defensive coordinators in the league, gave him praise like that and was genuinely excited, then you know there is something special with the kid.

One of the Raiders' worst position groups is linebacker, as they lost Denzel Perryman and Jayon Brown in the offseason. Harris can easily have a good camp and compete for a starting job next to Divine Deableo.
