Tennessee Vols offensive lineman Cooper Mays — UT's starting center — has to eat plenty of calories each day to fuel his body for the intense workload that college football players face on a daily basis.

The average recommend calorie intake per day for an average adult is around 2,000 calories.

Mays nearly has that cleared by the time he finishes breakfast.

The latest episode of "Outside the Huddle" (via Tennessee Athletics) details what Mays eats in a day while preparing for the 2023 season.

Mays consumes 1,935 calories for breakfast before crushing 2,224 calories at lunch. The Tennessee native then has two turkey sandwiches for a snack in the afternoon which adds 1,113 calories to the count.

The final meal of the day for Mays is a 1,917 calorie dinner that brings his total for the day to 7,189 calories.

It takes a lot of calories to keep offensive linemen in SEC shape — especially considering how many calories players are burning each day during practice.
