The Denver Broncos are getting a truly versatile weapon on their team for the 2023 season, and I think even he knows how much he could help out the team.

In free agency, the Broncos splurged a bit. They got some big-named guys when it comes to the offensive line, and they also got some under-the-radar guys, sort of like cornerback Tremon Smith.

Sean Payton and the Broncos saw something they liked in Smith, so they went out and got him. I guess you could say Smith saw something he liked in the Broncos as well.

"I just felt like just the history and, just Sean Payton being here," Smith explained. "I know he's gonna turn this thing around and get us in the right direction. So just all the players, we got a lot of young players that are good.

"So I'm just excited to be here. It was stressful at first. But, you know, I had to just let my agent handle it and just continue my workouts. I'm working out in Austin right now, so I just got to continue to grind and just mind my business."

The Broncos are getting a guy who has a bit of experience in the league. He played with the Texans the last two seasons, Indianapolis before that, and was drafted to the Kansas City Chiefs in 2018 out of the University of Central Arkansas.

But, they are also getting a guy who can do something you don't see too often in the league anymore.

"An all-around athlete who literally can play offense, defense, and special teams, no weakness in my game really is just excited to be a part of the Broncos," Smith said.

It's only right that with Deion Sanders now in town coaching the Colorado Buffaloes, that the Broncos get a guy who can do exactly what he did.

Last season Smith finished with a 66 coverage grade, per Pro Football Focus, and two interceptions to go along with it. He had a return touchdown in 2021.

This guy could have a special role with Denver in 2023.
