The pro day circuit is in full swing as the NFL Draft is a little over a month away.
USC was next on the docket yesterday with plenty of notable prospects working out for NFL personnel.
While no head coaches or general managers were reportedly in attendance, a high-profile coach for the Cincinnati Bengals was on sight.
Per NFL Network's Bridget Condon, Bengals defensive coordinator Lou Anarumo was sighted at USC's pro day.
Being the head of the defensive side of the ball, Anarumo wasn't there to watch wide receiver Jordan Addison. He was there for those on the other side of the ball. One defensive prospect in particular stands out among the rest for the Trojans particular, and he's likely the reason Anarumo flew across the country this week.
Defensive lineman Tuli Tuipulotu was a straight menace in 2022. He carried USC's pass rush by accounting for 13.5 of the team's 40 sacks, and posted 22 tackles for loss to boot. Oh, and he was just 20 years old.
Tuipulotu did not test at the NFL Scouting Combine, which creates questions in his overall profile, but his youth and production make him a tantalizing pass-rushing project for Anarumo to mold. Cincinnati would benefit more depth behind Sam Hubbard and Trey Hendrickson to really round out the position group with Joseph Ossai and Cam Sample.
Pro day appearances don't always lead to draft picks being made, but Anarumo is always on the lookout for versatile players with a nose for the football. Tuipulotu is someone to watch come late April.
