The Buffalo Bills were named this week by CBS Sports as a potential landing spot for one of the NFL's biggest superstars.

Jordan Dajani, an NFL writer for CBS Sports, named the Bills as a team that could land New York Giants running back Saquon Barkley this offseason (he also listed the Giants and the Miami Dolphins as good fits).

Barkley, a two-time Pro-Bowler, is scheduled to be a free agent when the new league year begins later this month.

From CBS Sports

I listed the Buffalo Bills as a team that should target Barkley if he hits the open market. Why? Buffalo already has one of the most dominant offenses in the NFL. With a legitimate running back and rushing attack the Bills should have the best offense in the NFL.

The idea of Barkely in the Bills' offense with Josh Allen is fun to think about, but it's probably not realistic.

It's hard to imagine Buffalo giving Barkley a massive contract. They'd be wise to allocate those funds elsewhere. Targeting a running back in the 2023 NFL Draft — maybe Alabama's Jahmyr Gibbs — would be a more economical way to address the running back position.

There's also the fact that the Giants probably won't let Barkley get away. I wouldn't be surprised if Barkley receives the franchise tag to buy New York some time to work out an extension with the former Penn State running back.

Barkley could accomplish some special things in Buffalo, but it's hard to see him actually wearing a Bills jersey in 2023.
