The Philadelphia Eagles came up just short of winning the Super Bowl in 2022, losing in the final seconds.

Although they didn't win the ultimate prize, Pro Football Focus placed 13 Eagles on their top 101 players list including quarterback Jalen Hurts, center Jason Kelce, and wide receiver A.J. Brown.

One member of the Eagles got the most respect from PFF, and it was right tackle Lane Johnson who landed at the No. 9 spot.

Per PFF:

"Despite playing with an injury throughout the playoffs, Johnson allowed just 11 hurries across 18 games this season with virtually no schematic help at any point. None of his allowed pressure registered as sacks or even knockdowns."

The injury that PFF writer Sam Monson is talking about is a torn adductor muscle that Lane suffered in Week 16 against the Dallas Cowboys.

Johnson didn't allow a single quarterback hit in 2022 on 614 pass-blocking snaps. Also, he hasn't given up a sack since November 2020 which is an incredible streak.

Johnson entered the league in 2013 and it took him a while to find his way as a player. However, since 2017 he's been one of the NFL's top offensive linemen as he's garnered four Pro Bowl selections and three All-Pro nods over that span.

The former first-round pick has battled some injuries and even endured a 10-game suspension in 2016 for PED violations after signing his six-year $63 million extension which him the highest-paid right tackle at the time. But Johnson has started all 127 regular season games that he's played which speaks to his ability as a player.

A quarterback's best friend has been said to be a good running game. Well, that doesn't happen without a solid offensive line, and Johnson is a huge reason why the Eagles have the top unit in the NFL at the moment.
