Eagles Pro Bowl-level cornerback defends Philadelphia's cheat code play
The Philadelphia Eagles’ Pro Bowl-level cornerback defends Philadelphia’s cheat-code play publically on social media while bringing up Tom Brady.
With talks swirling regarding the NFL banning the Philadelphia Eagles' famed "Tush Push," cornerback Darius Slay is advocating for the play's continued use.
Slay let how he felt be known when Peter King said the play should be banned. Because of King's segment on ProFootballTalk, Slay brought up a myriad of reasons the play shouldn't be banned — one of which was Hall of Fame quarterback Tom Brady.
Take a look at what Slay said:
Slay has a point. Brady has been the NFL's golden boy for years. And when he had success running the play, the league almost celebrated what it now may deem as cheating. Maybe it has something to do with how bold Jalen Hurts is as a leader. He leads differently compared to Brady. The Eagles also run the "tush push" more often than the Patriots did.
In nearly every short-yardage situation, Philadelphia was utilizing its famed play, and it had an astounding level of success.

Exhibit C:
You get the point. Philadelphia deployed this play with near-obsessive levels of success and frequency.
That appears to be King's main gripe with the play. It's not the play itself but how Philadelphia continues to deploy it.
But that is the name of the game: Catch the defense while it is sleeping and use it to your advantage. The NFL penalizing the Eagles for running a play too often with too much efficiency merely indicates that the league does not know how to gameplan for Jalen Hurts or Philadelphia's offensive success.
In the end, the NFL banning the "push tush" would indicate that the Eagles scare the rest of the league.
