The Kansas City Chiefs just made one of the more underrated signings during free agency. They signed Charles Omenihu, a guy that has elite advanced stats and is so close to being a breakout player in the league.

Omenihu has a ton of potential for a guy who is entering his fifth season as a professional. He finished with just five sacks last season, one more than Frank Clark, the main guy they are bringing him in to replace. But finished with the seventh-best pass-rush rate of any player who has played at least 300 pass-rush snaps.

Obviously, he is doing something right, as he is coming off of a career season. But, he wasn't always the player we know today. For him, something changed when he was traded.

"Yeah, the trade was, it was good, actually, you know, I was kind of like, I'm nervous about it," Omenihu said during his introductory presser. "I've never, never thought I was gonna leave the state of Texas. But, you know, being the best thing that happened for me in my career, honestly, being traded to the 49ers gave me a fresh start, a new look on uplifting my confidence as far as just how my third year in the league was going. And, it was good and then carried over to my best season yet in the league and I feel like I'm only going up in the aspects of my play."

If his career changed when he went from the Texans to the 49ers, imagine what can happen now that he is with a team that has done nothing but win the last five years. Now he is with a team that has won two Super Bowls in the last four seasons.

Now he will learn how to consistently be a winner, as crazy as that sounds. The Chiefs have been used to revitalize players' careers over the years or get older guys their ring, I should say. Now they can start getting players to another level of play. I think we will see that this season.
