Prior to last week if you had done a mock draft for the Minnesota Vikings, you probably had them taking a corner. Eleven of the seventeen analysts did so, here.

Today you very well still may take one, as two of the Vikings' three listed starters are second-year players with limited playing experience. Fortunately, they did just add one player to their secondary in promising fifth-year player Byron Murphy

Is the addition of Murphy enough for the Vikings to forego the need for corner and turn their attention elsewhere?

One analyst thinks so. In his latest mock draft, ESPN's Mel Kiper has the Vikings turning their attention to the opposite side of the ball: They select TCU wide receiver, Quentin Johnston.

The Vikings did just release long time local star and Pro Bowler Adam Thielen, so the need makes sense.

Johnston would fit well next to Jefferson, as he is a big-bodied X receiver. He measured 6-foot-3 at the combine and also registered an 11-foot-2 broad jump and a vertical of 40-1/2 inches.

Johnston is more than a jump ball receiver, as he's shown the ability to get open with his route running.

Below are some clips of his play:

The Vikings have the NFL's best receiver in Justin Jefferson and one of the NFL's best receiving tight ends in T.J. Hockenson. Johnston would be a nice complement to Jefferson and would allow Jefferson to line up at different spots on offense.

But at the same time, the Vikings have needs elsewhere, which is what makes this selection interesting.
