The Philadelphia Eagles have lost a couple of key players in free agency this week, which wasn't totally unexpected.

Philadelphia has watched defensive lineman Javon Hargrave, offensive tackle Andre Dillard, linebackers T.J. Edwards and Kyzir White, and free safety Marcus Epps sign with other teams.

On Tuesday, however, the Eagles managed to re-sign one of their key players.

Philadelphia reportedly agreed to a new three-year deal with cornerback James Bradberry, who was set to be a free agent on Wednesday when the new league year begins.

The Eagles signed Bradberry last May after he was released by the New York Giants.

Bradberry, despite reaching a Pro Bowl in 2020, was a cap casualty in New York.

The Eagles quickly swooped in, signing Bradberry to a one-year deal just a week after he was released by the Giants.

Bradberry ended up playing a key role for the Eagles in 2022. The former second-round draft pick held opposing quarterbacks to a 51.6 passer rating last season — the second-best mark in the NFL.

Landing Bradberry a year ago was a massive steal for Philly. Signing him to a three-year deal after one of the best years of his career is just good business. But it's a move that likely wouldn't have been possible without the Giants releasing Bradberry last year.

The Giants will almost certainly be kicking themselves for a while after not figuring out a way to keep Bradberry in The Big Apple. The fact he's in Philly longterm just adds insult to injury.
