Isaiah Wynn seemingly takes shot at Patriots fans after cryptic tweet
The 2018 first-round pick is unlikely to return in 2023.
New England Patriots offensive tackle Isaiah Wynn appears set to take his talents elsewhere after a disappointing 2022 campaign.
Wynn tweeted Friday, “Free 🧘🏾.”
Since Wynn struggled so much in 2022 under new offensive line coach Matt Patricia and with a move to right tackle, even though the Georgia product turned off replies, the tweet’s quotes were littered with Patriots fans celebrating the fact that he won’t be back.
Wynn’s next tweet was seemingly a shot at those haters.
“You gotta be up at least 5M’s fo me to een converse with ya. Grab bout 8 generations worth of y’all’s entire life savings then we can possibly rap. Possibly.”
Wynn never played a full season in New England due to injuries. Of a possible 82 regular season games that he could have played, Wynn only suited up in 43 of them.
He was a quality left tackle for three seasons, however, before his switch to right tackle in 2022. He could wind up being a bargain for a team who doesn’t mind a 6-foot-2, 310-pound undersized left tackle. A switch to guard or right tackle would come with less certainty.
Wynn earned a career-low 54.6 PFF grade last season at right tackle and let up four sacks, two QB hits and 11 hurries while being penalized nine times. His previous career-low grade came in 2019 with a 70.7 mark.
