While the Las Vegas Raiders have been busy making moves, they have lost a few guys too, key guys at that.

The Raiders started their offseason early by letting their once-franchise quarterback Derek Carr walk. Then they went and signed their new guy at the position, Jimmy Garoppolo. They have added some weapons around him in Jakobi Meyers and even traded one away in Darren Waller. Then they added Austin Hooper to replace Waller.

They have made a ton of moves, some of which will make this team better. But, they lost some guys that may end up hurting them in the long run. According to Pro Football Focus, their biggest loss was defensive tackle Andrew Billings.

Here are PFF's thoughts on the Raiders losing one of their 2022 starters:

While we did count D.J. Moore for the Panthers, we'll look elsewhere for the Raiders in regard to quarterback Derek Carr, who was cut, and tight end Darren Waller, who was traded. Billings was the highest-graded interior defender on the Raiders' roster by more than 20 grading points, with his run-defense grade also the top mark by a hefty margin. The Raiders' defense still needs a ton of help at outside cornerback, as well. Getting Rock Ya-Sin back in the fold would go a long way, but if he ultimately signs elsewhere, he has an argument to be the selection here.

The Raiders are losing a guy they relied on a lot in 2022. While the defense wasn't good, at all, had Billings not been on the team it could have been much worse, just because of how bad the guys were behind him on the depth chart.

I say Billings is a surprising name for a few reasons. First, not a whole lot of people know who he is, or just how valuable he was to the team. Secondly, I thought PFF would make the Raiders' biggest loss a guy like Denzel Perryman who has been the Raiders' best linebacker for a few years now, as he is now on the Houston Texans.

Either way, Billings was a big loss. The Raiders already had a need at defensive tackle, and now this signifies more that they will target that position group in the draft come the end of April.
