A key 2024 Tennessee Vols recruiting target revealed his top five schools on Friday afternoon.

2024 five-star defensive lineman Kamarion Franklin is one of the most sought-after recruits in the nation.

Franklin, 6-foot-5/265 lbs from Lake Cormorant, MS, is ranked by 247Sports as the No. 6 defensive lineman in the nation and the No. 2 player in the state of Mississippi. He's also rated as the No. 29 overall player in the 2024 recruiting class.

On Friday, Franklin named a top five that includes Tennessee, as well as Auburn, Florida State, Miami, and Ole Miss.

Early last month, On3's Sam Spiegelman predicted that Tennessee will land a commitment from Franklin.

Franklin doesn't have a planned commitment day yet, so this battle could drag out for a while. Spiegelman's prediction is a positive sign for the Vols, but Tennessee still has plenty of work to do in this battle if they're going to bring Frnaklin to Rocky Top.

“Coach Garner, Coach Chop, and Coach Heupel all recruit me hard at Tennessee and they have multiple coaches who recruit me almost every day,” said Franklin to On3 recently. “I’ve visited Tennessee four or five times and it’s great up there. Like Miami, the people at Tennessee are great and my relationships there are strong."

“They had a great season last year and that showed me a lot, too," added Franklin. "Coach Heupel has them going in the right direction and Tennessee always lets me know that I’m not just a want, but a need. They want to build that defensive line around me.”

Tennessee currently has the No. 8 ranked 2024 recruiting class in the nation.
