Ben Joyce was a fireballer for the Tennessee Vols in the past. Now, he's doing it at the major league level. For the Los Angeles Angels, Joyce is lighting up the radar gun and making batters look silly once again. Nothing new for him.

That being said, he's an outlier when it comes to the major leagues. He was drafted in 2022, and he has already reached the big leagues. That almost never happens in less than a calendar year, but Joyce's arm and potential is special.

On Thursday, he threw another scoreless inning. This time, it came against the Houston Astros.

He faced the top of the Astros order, but that didn't stop him from lighting it up on the mound. Jose Altuve struggled mightily against Joyce. His deceptive arm angle and ferocious velocity has been almost un-hittable so far.

The former Vols flame-thrower will look to keep the consistency rolling for the Angels. He could become a major part of their bullpen very soon.
