Lane Johnson, Philadelphia Eagles captain and offensive lineman, is choosing to prioritize mental health.

Johnson recently announced that he is partnering with Kooth, a mental health service that seeks to "create a welcoming space for effective personalized digital mental health care," reads the About page. "Available to all."

On Up & Adams, Johnson explained the context of the partnership and why he chose to work with Kooth.

"Mental health should never be ignored or stigmatized, and I'm looking forward to helping create positive change among our kids," he said.

Mental health discussions aren't new for Johnson. In 2021, he was interviewed by Fox Sports, explaining that because of his mental health struggles, he was "living in hell."

"I was ashamed, to be honest," he said. "In this league, the NFL, where it's a gladiator-type sport, it's something that's not often talked about but is often felt throughout the league."

Mental health has been at the forefront of non-football-related NFL discussions. It is only recently that players feel empowered to provide insight into what they struggle with off the field. Johnson is just but one example.

But since finding the help he has needed for his mental health, Johnson has led the charge in ensuring resources are available to others who are struggling and are in need of an intervention or help.

Partnering with Kooth is just the latest example of that.
