The Philadelphia Eagles have one of the most complete rosters in the NFL which is why they're viewed as the favorites in the NFC in 2023.
This past season, Philly came up just short of winning their second Super Bowl in five years.
The Eagles' narrow 38-35 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl LVII, however, was proof that Philadelphia is a championship-caliber team that just needed a few roster tweaks in the offseason.
Philly improved their roster through the 2023 NFL Draft by landing Georgia defensive lineman Jalen Carter and Georgia linebacker Nolan Smith in the first round.
Carter and Smith will both be expected to contribute as rookies.
Another player the Eagles added in the 2023 NFL Draft was Georgia cornerback Kelee Ringo. Philadelphia selected Ringo with the No. 105 overall pick (round four).
Ringo has early-round talent/athleticism. But he fell to the fourth round in part due to his "route tracking abilities".
Despite those concerns, CBS Sports named Ringo this week as a rookie sleeper who could shine in 2023.
From CBS Sports: With Ringo, most draft analysts saw a defensive back who lacked twitch and had problems mirroring wideouts. While I noticed the latter, I viewed Ringo as one of the most effortlessly athletic movers at the position in the class. He changed directions in a flash and demonstrated the long speed needed to recover when beaten by a sharp route. Finding himself in a secondary led by veterans Darius Slay and James Bradberry, Ringo won't be in a pressure cooker right away. I like that for him. Regardless of your thoughts on his twitch or natural route-tracking abilities, there's no doubting his physical attributes. Ringo is a nearly 6-foot-2, 207-pound corner with 4.36 speed. Given how good Philadelphia is at generating pressure, he's going to chip in with some big plays on the football in 2023.
While the route-mirroring abilities were a concern with Ringo, it should be noted that he had one of the more memorable interceptions of the 2022 season. In Georgia's 27-13 win against Tennessee, Ringo essentially ran Vols wide receiver Cedric Tillman's route for him.

Sometimes NFL teams overthink things come draft time. And it looks like the Eagles might be the benefactors of some of that "overthinking" when it comes to Ringo.
