Giants fans won't appreciate analysts' 2023 offensive prediction

The New York Giants have taken steps this offseason to improve their offensive efficiency.
Whether that was adding pass catchers in free agency and the draft, or beefing up the interior of the offensive line, the 2023 Giants offense will look different.
But just because there will be new faces on offense, it doesn't mean they will improve. And if former NFL QB and current CBS Sports analyst Boomer Esiason is right, they won't.
Boomer hosts a morning show for WFAN in New York, and during a recent hit, he took what some may deem a shot at the Giants' 2023 offense:
“You look at this list, it’s not that great compared to top 10 teams in the league,” Boomer said when looking at the Giants' wide receiver corps. “That’s why they probably felt they had to pay Daniel Jones soon."
I'm not sure if I catch Boomer's drift here if I'm being completely honest. It's certainly the time of year when rankings are justified, and whatever your view of the Giants' offense, it's fair to say they lack an "elite" WR corps.
But Boomer's point about the Giants having to pay Daniel Jones because of that certainly falls on deaf ears. I have been a big proponent of Jones, but it's not as if the Giants felt compelled to sign him because of the lack of receiving talent.
Boomer would then offer a back-handed compliment for Jones, saying:
“I think Daniel Jones is gonna have another rough year in terms of him having to do a lot,” Boomer said. “They’re paying him to do a lot."
"When you look at the group of players around him, you could say he’s the Lamar Jackson of the Giants. That had always been the argument around the Ravens, that they were a run-first team, they were using his legs as opposed to his arm, and now all of a sudden they add all these receivers and Lamar Jackson says he wants to throw for 6,000 yards.”
Pause. So Boomer compares Jones to a former MVP (Lamar Jackson) but simultaneously says he expects him to have a rough year.
Is anybody else confused?
I won't speak for all Giants fans, but I would assume if Daniel Jones finished a season with an MVP nod, 14 wins, and a playoff appearance, (Jacksons MVP season accolades) many would deem that a success.
Maybe a little reverse psychology is in store here. If so, Giants fans are certainly hoping for a "rough year."
