The Los Angeles Rams selected Tennessee Vols edge rusher Byron Young with the No. 77 overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft.
Young impressed scouts during pre-draft workouts with his elite athleticism and speed. There are some concerns about his size and lack of elite production at Tennessee, but he very clearly has a lot of upside as a pass rusher.
(By the way, I don't know why Young's size is the narrative, he's the same size as potential future Hall of Fame edge rusher Von Miller.)
Young will be joined by a former Tennessee teammate in Los Angeles.
The Rams reportedly signed former Vols running back Tiyon Evans to an undrafted free-agent deal over the weekend.
Evans is a former four-star recruit who started his career at Hutchinson Community College before signing with Tennessee ahead of the 2021 season.
In 2021, Evans rushed for 525 yards and six touchdowns with the Vols. He transferred to Louisville for the 2022 season where, oddly enough, he also rushed for 525 yards and six touchdowns.
Evans and Young were teammates at Tennessee in 2021.
For now, they're the only two former Vols on the Rams' roster.
