A former Tennessee Vols offensive lineman who left Rocky Top earlier this offseason is getting some work at a new position this fall.

Offensive lineman William Satterwhite spent the first two seasons of his career at Tennessee before transferring to LSU in January.

The former Vol played 188 snaps for the Volunteers as a redshirt freshman last season while operating as a backup center behind starter Sam Pendleton (who is set to start at center for Tennessee again in 2026).

Redshirt senior Braelin Moore is expected to start at center for LSU in 2026, which means Satterwhite will serve as depth for the Tigers.

Interestingly, Satterwhite is apparently getting some work at guard and tackle in fall camp.

“LSU has been looking at William Satterwhite some at guard but most recently at tackle,” reported The Bengal Tiger’s Glen West this week.

Satterwhite isn’t the only former Vol who left Knoxville for Baton Rouge this offseason.

EDGE Jordan Ross, a former five-star recruit who is entering his third season in college football, also transferred to LSU in January.

It sounds like Ross is set to be one of LSU’s starting pass rushers, but he’s being pushed by a freshman.

“At the edge, we know one spot will overwhelmingly be played by Princewill Umanmielen,” noted West. “On the opposite side, Jordan Ross has maintained most of the looks with Umanmielen but freshman Lamar Brown is coming. He’s been seen working closely with Ed Orgeron during individual drills and just offers LSU a unique body type at that position should it want to mix up its front line.”

Satterwhite and Ross will compete against some of their former Tennessee teammates on November 21 when LSU comes to Neyland Stadium.
