The Philadelphia Eagles have been pointed out by many analysts as the team that had the best haul in the 2023 NFL Draft.
That's scary for the rest of the NFL considering the Eagles already had one of the best rosters in the NFL.
And to make matters worse for the rest of the NFL, several college coaches think Philadelphia may have landed one of the biggest "sleepers" in the draft.
ESPN recently spoke to numerous anonymous college coaches about the 2023 NFL Draft. They asked those coaches about their favorite sleepers in the draft. And several coaches noted that Philly's selection of Georgia Bulldogs cornerback Kelee Ringo in the fourth round was a sneaky good pick.
One coach even said he was surprised Ringo fell to the fourth round after the way he dominated Ohio State in the College Football Playoff semifinal last season.
From ESPN: Several coaches both within and outside the SEC took note of Ringo's selection, especially for a former ESPN top-10 recruit who started for Georgia's national championship-winning defenses. Ringo recorded two interceptions in each season and finished his college career with 19 passes defended.
He earned second-team All-SEC honors last fall. An SEC coordinator said Ringo lacked the fluidity of several defensive backs who went earlier, but that he still brought a lot to Georgia's defense.
"I was surprised," an SEC coach said. "He was a really good player. He dominated Ohio State [in the CFP semifinal]."
Ringo needs to be more consistent, but he has the athleticism and skills to be a starting NFL cornerback.
Just check out this interception he came down with in Georgia's 27-13 win over the Tennessee Vols, a program that was ranked No. 1 in the nation at the time.
Ringo and the Vols wide receiver he was going against, Cedric Tillman (a third-round pick this year by the Cleveland Browns), battled all afternoon in Athens. And Ringo more than held his own, though Tillman won a few rounds.
The Eagles landing a potential starting cornerback in the fourth round with elite athletcism (Ringo was a five-star recruit and the No. 1 cornerback in the nation coming out of high school in Arizona) is almost criminal. Philly was the team to beat in the NFC last season and that will be the case again in 2023. Unfortunately for the rest of the NFC, the Eagles are going to be even tougher to beat this fall than they were a year ago.
