The Titans traded up in the draft for the second consecutive year to land a QB. In 2022, they traded for pick 86 and selected Liberty QB, Malik Willis. This year, they traded up to pick 33 and selected Kentucky QB Will Levis.

Both of these QBs were considered raw coming out of the draft and slid past their projected draft position. In both cases, the Titans saw an opportunity to draft their QB of the future and made a move.

While drafting QBs in two straight years may excite the fanbase, it probably isn't what current QB1 Ryan Tannehill hoped to see.

When asked about the selection, Tannehill said

“Yeah, we’ve been down this road before, so it’s definitely a little bit of déjà vu,” – Ryan Tannehill.

Tannehill is 34 years old and coming off a bit of a down season with Tennesee. He completed 212 of his 325 pass attempts, threw for 2,536 yards, 13 touchdowns, and six interceptions in 12 games last season. He has a cap hit of $36 million this year.

It will be interesting to see who starts this season as QB for the Titans, and it will be even more interesting to see who ends the season as QB1.
