A former Tennessee Vols football player has reportedly joined the Tennessee Titans' coaching staff.

PaulKuharsky.com's Mike Herndon pointed out on Tuesday morning that Titans head coach Mike Vrabel mentioned during a recent appearance on Bussin with the Boys that former Vols tight end Luke Stocker has been hired by the Nashville-based NFL franchise.

Kuharsky confirmed the news and noted that Stocker will be a quality control coach and he will work with tight ends coach Tony Dews.

Stocker played at Tennessee from 2007 to 2010 before embarking on an NFL career that lasted from to 2011 to 2021. The former Vol was selected by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the fourth round of the 2011 NFL Draft. Stocker spent parts of 12 seasons with the Buccaneers, Titans, Atlanta Falcons, and Minnesota Vikings.

Dews and Stocker should have some familiarity with each other. Dews was the Titans' running backs coach in 2018 when Stocker was on the roster. Stocker was also on Tennessee's roster in 2021 (he was released before the season started) when Dews was the running backs coach in Nashville (Dews is moving to tight ends in 2023).
