Ryan Tannehill is healthy and ready to prove the doubters wrong in 2023.

The veteran missed the final five games of the 2022 season due to injury and the Titans ultimately missed the playoffs. Since it's been a while since we've seen Tannehill at his best, it appears that many have forgotten how solid he has been for Tennessee.

NFL analyst Warren Sharp can be counted among the doubters after his latest QB rankings.

The Sharp Football Analysis team recently ranked every team's QB room ahead of the 2023 season. Sharp mentioned that these rankings are based on the "upcoming season only," and "future outlook" is not considered.

The Titans' one-two punch of Ryan Tannehill and Will Levis came in at No. 28. The Commanders, Buccaneers, Falcons, and Packers are the only teams below the Titans in the rankings. Sharp offered the following rationale for the Titans' ranking:

The presence of Ryan Tannehill likely saved the Titans from having our lowest-ranked quarterback room, but Tannehill’s declining skill set gives the team a low ceiling at the position even if he’s healthy for a full season. At some point, we’ll likely see second-round pick Will Levis. At that point, Tennessee may have the league’s worst quarterback situation, at least in the short term.

The mention of "Tannehill's declining skill set," is an interesting tidbit. Sure, Tannehill's numbers were down across the board in 2022, but should that be attributed to a "declining skill set," or was it more likely the result of a poor supporting cast?

Robert Woods led the Titans in receiving in 2022 with just 527 yards. Additionally, only five teams allowed more sacks than the Titans did last season. This would have been a challenging environment for any QB, not just Tannehill.

This point is proven by the fact that the Titans only won one game without Tannehill in 2022. When Tannehill started, the team had a 6-6 record. Without Tannehill, the team went 1-4 and lost a pivotal win-and-in game against the Jaguars.

The Colts and Steelers are confusingly both ranked higher than the Titans. Would you trust Kenny Pickett and Gardner Minshew more than Ryan Tannehill for this season? I sure wouldn't. Tannehill has an impressive 36-19 record as the Titans' starter. Minshew is 8-16 as a starter and Pickett is 7-5. While both might have more potential than Tannehill, the criteria were strictly based on the upcoming season.

Furthering this point, every rookie QB was ranked ahead of Tannehill. The Panthers are ranked 23rd and the Texans are ranked 22nd. Does anybody think the Texans and Panthers will have better records than the Titans in 2023?

Overall, I believe Tannehill is vastly undervalued. The Titans have won double the amount of games they've lost with Tannehill starting, yet many seem to think the Titans are doomed with the veteran in 2023.
