Broncos fans didn't have much to be excited about last season, the front office is hoping for a massive shift this year.

Sean Payton and George Paton understand that the success of the team goes beyond just wins and losses. They recognize the importance of building a positive reputation both on and off the field.

This offseason, Paton and Payton have gone above and beyond to do just that, build a positive reputation. With signings, draft night trades, and free-agent acquisitions, things are going to hopefully be different in Denver.

What may be the front office's most underrated yet impactful pickup could be that of DL Zach Allen.

For a moment, it looked like the organization was going to be in a difficult spot with the loss of Randy Gregory and Dre'Mont Jones. Allen was a smart signing for the team and will prove to be a valuable addition, quickly filling a crucial spot

In fact, the team is receiving national praise for the decision to pick up Allen. The former Arizona Cardinals DL was named to the NFL's All-Underrated Team. NFL analyst Doug Farrar was candid about the Broncos' new pass rusher. Farrar went as far as to call the players "Secret Superstars."

The 6-foot-4, 281 Allen had his best season to date in 2022, with six sacks, 15 quarterback hits, and 14 quarterback hurries in 427 pass-rushing snaps. Allen’s sacks came everywhere from the edge to aligned over the guards to true nose-shade alignments — so, like his mentor, he’s developed into a guy who can harass quarterbacks from any place you’d like.

Allen, paired with the newly aquired Frank Clark, is going to be a nightmare matchup for opposing offenses. However, it may just be Allen that is the primary disruptor, not Clark.

The talented pass rusher is entering the prime of his career and the smart pickup by the Broncos could quite literally pay off for years to come. This could, once again, be another genius move from Payton in a crucial season for the organization.
