The Seattle Seahawks struck gold with their selection of Tariq Woolen with the 153rd overall selection last year.

Woolen would finish third in defensive rookie of the year voting, and he had a case to win the award.

Did the Seahawks strike gold yet again?

Head coach, Pete Carroll in a recent press conference had a very promising statement about on of his defenders.

"Michael Jackson's had the best camp of anybody. He had a great camp, and he's stepped up for the challenge of it, had just a really productive, almost a dominant camp for us, and so that was great to see that. We need it.”

Michael Jackson started his career with the Dallas Cowboys, he was selected in the fifth round and started his career on their practice squad. He would then be signed off of the Cowboys practice squad by the Detroit Lions. There, he would play in only one game before being traded.

Jackson would be traded to the New England Patriots. He would spend time on the practice squad before playing in yet one more game before being waived.

There, he would come to start his career with the Seahawks. Just last year he would start 17 games for the Seahawks.

Now he has nearly produced a "dominant camp."

Have the Seahawks struck gold again and locked down their cornerback room for the foreseeable future? Jackson is only under contract for one more year, so they would need to resign him if he performs.

Only time will tell, but it sounds promising from what Carroll has said.
