Many, many years from now, T.J. Watt will be inducted into the Pittsburgh Steelers' Hall of Honor, and the Pro Football Hall of Fame not too long after that.
For now, he's still in his prime as the leader of the Steelers' defense and one of the best players in the NFL. And before he came into the league, his brother was arguably the league's best player.
The bond between T.J. and J.J. Watt is special, so when October 1st rolls around this fall, expect some brotherly pride to be on display.
Pittsburgh's Week 4 matchup against the Houston Texans will feature the older Watt, J.J., being inducted into the Texans' Ring of Honor, meaning T.J. will get to witness it in the stadium.
J.J. officially retired from football at the end of this past season, announcing it right before his final home game with the Arizona Cardinals. Watt spent two years with the Cards following an illustrious 10-year career with the Texans, who drafted him all the way back in 2011.
The Texans have only existed for a little over 20 years, which is why Watt will be the third-ever inductee into the franchise's history.
T.J. getting to witness such a special moment in person will be amazing, and you can bet on him trying to show out against his brother's former team. The Steelers might get his best game of the regular season because of it. He's played the Texans just twice in his career, and recorded a sack and two tackles for loss the latest game back in 2020.
Whether this was on purpose or pure coincidence, good on the Texans to chose the perfect game for J.J. to be enshrined.
