Tennessee Vols baseball is set up to be a contender once again next season. Their starting rotation should look strong once again, and the lineup has landed multiple impact transfers. That being said, some notable Vols from this past season, are headed to the MLB quite yet. That's a major development for the near future of the program.
Tony Vitello won't get Jared Dickey and Ryan Galanie for the middle of his order next year. They were not selected on the first two days of the 2023 MLB Draft, but they were picked on day three. Galanie was set to transfer to Tennessee, but he is signing with the Chicago White Sox. Dickey was great for the Vols last year, but he was selected by the Kansas City Royals. He will not return to Tennessee.
The Vols also lost starter Chase Dollander, reliever Seth Halvorsen, pitcher Andrew Lindsey, and infielder Maui Ahuna in the first two days of the selection process.
