The Tennessee Vols will learn their fate from the NCAA on Friday at 12:00 PM ET according to a report from VolQuest's Brent Hubbs.

Ahead of the noon announcement, however, Tennessee received some good news in regards to the NCAA investigation into the recruiting violations that occurred under previous UT head coach Jeremy Pruitt.

ESPN's Chris Low reported on Friday morning that Tennessee will not face a bowl ban as part of the penalties handed down by the NCAA.

This was always the expectation, but you never really know when it comes to the NCAA.

According to Low, the Vols are expected to be hit with a "steep fine" for the violations that occurred under Pruitt (it wouldn't be a surprise if the fine ends up being close to the same amount of cash that Tennessee saved by not paying Pruitt his buyout, which was around $12.5 million).

Tennessee could also face further scholarship reductions as part of the penalties.
