The Indianapolis Colts sit in a dangerous spot with the 2023 NFL Draft just weeks away. Already desperately needing a quarterback, Indianapolis does not control its fate when the draft rolls around.

That is because Indianapolis sits behind the Carolina Panthers and Houston Texans in the draft order. Both of which will also likely take a quarterback. That means the Colts, at best, will have to settle with taking the third signal caller off the board.

However, even that might not even be the case. Since the Arizona Cardinals, who sit one pick ahead of the Colts, are considering trading their own selection. At least six different teams are interested in moving up to No. 3 overall.

That report comes from Adam Schefter on Monday. With as many as four quarterbacks expected to go early, teams around the league are looking to make a move up in front of the Colts.

According to Schefter, the Cardinals are "mulling" trading down in the order. Arizona is locked into Kyler Murray for the foreseeable future. So, adding more draft capital to fill out the roster certainly makes a lot of sense.

The thought is that Bryce Young and CJ Stroud will be the first two selections, in some order, to the Panthers and Texans. Which would leave Anthony Richardson and Will Levis – two of the most polarizing prospects in the class – for the other teams looking to take a QB early.

Indianapolis has to come away with any of the four. Richardson has the best odds to be the Colts' pick as it stands now. It's worth noting that the Colts sent one of their most important front office members to Richardson's pro day.

It's looking more and more likely that the Colts will have to make a move up to No. 3 in order to secure their guy in this year's draft. The Panthers' trade up to No. 1 put the pressure on, and it's only heating up as the draft inches closer.

Now, the Cardinals' willingness to trade their pick could be what finally forces the Colts' hand. Unfortunately, Chris Ballard looks to have some competition in getting a potential deal done.
