Famed NFL insider Mel Kiper Jr. recently released an updated two-round mock draft.

In the first round, Kiper has the Eagles adding to a strength by selecting Peter Skoronski, an offensive lineman out of Northwestern.

Currently, the Eagles also have the 30th pick in the 2023 NFL Draft. However, Kiper does not anticipate the team keeping that pick.

With at least three quarterbacks expected to be drafted in the top 10, Kiper foresees one team trading back into the first round to land a signal-caller.

The Seattle Seahawks already have No. 5 and No. 20 in the first round, but Kiper has the team addressing other needs with those picks. The analyst has the Seahawks beefing up the defense by selecting Jalen Carter and Myles Murphy.

However, the Seahawks work out a deal with the Eagles to land a third first round pick in this draft.

Kiper has the trade as:

Seahawks receive: Pick No. 30

Eagles Receive: Pick No. 37, Pick No. 52

The Eagles get an extra second rounder and only move back seven spots.

So who does Kiper have the Eagles selecting at No. 37?

Alabama running back Jahmyr Gibbs.

Regarding Gibbs and the Eagles, Kiper says the following:

Here's the first selection from my projected trade at the end of Round 1, and it just feels right. Gibbs is a dynamic receiver out of the backfield — he caught 44 passes last season. He could split time with free agent signing Rashad Penny and Kenneth Gainwell and be an easy outlet for quarterback Jalen Hurts. Plus, the Eagles have two more second-round picks to add talent.

Gibbs would be a perfect complement to the newly-acquired Rashaad Penny. Penny is a bruiser who figures to get the bulk of the red zone work, while Gibbs is an elite receiving threat out of the backfield and has no problem making tacklers miss.

Gibbs has the tools to become one of the best receiving backs in the league if he ends up in the right type of offense. The Eagles could be just that.

The Alabama product is not just a receiving threat, either. Gibbs average a whopping 6.1 yards per carry in 2022, and ended with 926 rushing yards and seven rushing touchdowns.
