The Detroit Lions made a feel-good roster move on Monday that should make fans smile.

According to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, the Lions re-signed defensive back Saivion Smith.

Smith played just two snaps for Detroit in 2022.

The former LSU/Alabama defensive back took a scary hit on his second snap of the 2022 season that left him laying motionless on the field.

Smith, who left the field in an ambulance, had to have surgery to repair a disc in his neck. He missed the rest of the 2022 season.

According to Rapoport, Smith is now healthy and he'll be back in Detroit in 2023.

Smith will mostly be a depth piece for the Lions, but it's still a great story that he's returning to the field in 2023 after suffering such a terrible injury in 2022.
