The Las Vegas Raiders just filled one more position on their depth chart that needed to be filled.
According to Ian Rapoport, the Las Vegas Raiders are signing former Patriots quarterback Brian Hoyer to be the backup quarterback behind Jimmy Garoppolo.
They needed to fill the backup spot, especially with Garoppolo's injury history, and they did so with a guy who has been in the same system for quite some time now.
Hoyer played for the New England Patriots for the last three years and has played with them for eight years total. He is reuniting with Josh McDaniels.
Considering he backup up Tom Brady some in his career, he doesn't have a ton of stats during his time in New England. But, he can run the offense, and that is all that matters.
