The Vanderbilt Commodores are in a rivalry tilt this weekend against the Tennessee Volunteers.

They are two teams headed in different directions so far this season. Vandy has been one of the top five teams in the country for most of the year, while the Vols have seen a fair share of struggles. The Vols sit in sixth place in the SEC East currently.

Meanwhile, the Commodores have been one of the most consistent teams on the mound in the entire country. Tonight, the defense had a defining moment. It was must-see baseball.

With the shift on, their infield made one of the best plays you'll see this season in college baseball. On a ground ball back up the middle, 3B Davis Diaz dove to field the ball, tossed it to SS Johnathan Vastine, and the shortstop threw out the baserunner on his way to first base. 1B Parker Noland had a beautiful pick to complete the play, too.
